Chelsea 1-1 Man Utd: Rooney's Idiocy Costs United 3 Points

Line up:

GK: VDSRB: Neville
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Evans
LB: Evra
RM: Hargreaves
CM: Fletcher
CM: Scholes
LM: Park
ST: Rooney
ST: Berbatov

Subs: Kuszack, O’Shea, Brown, Nani, Giggs, Ronaldo, Tevej

First of all, a draw at Stamford Bridge is not all that bad. Manchester United played much better yesterday. They dominated the first 20 minutes of the match. But once they got the lead, the whole team switched off. Chelsea dominated the rest of the match.

The goal for United came from the most unexpected resource, Park Ji Sung. I just love it when goals come from midfield. Park scored on rebound when Berbatov's shot was bounced off Peter Cech.

There were few surprises in the starting line up (well, tell me something new... :P). Gary Neville was selected ahead of Wes Brown. Is Fergie still under impression that Brown scored that own goal against Liverpool? :? I will never understand his team selection tactics in my whole goddamn life! Nani was benched and Anderson was not even on the squad. Has Fergie lost faith in Nani and Anderson? Scholes was again in the squad and he didn't prove me wrong either. He wasn't too far from the Neville. He was as awful. He picked a yellow in the first half for his brainless antics. Evans looked good, performed well in such a high pressure game. Rio, as usual, was immense. He almost scored yesterday, when his shot was stoppen by Cech. He was man of the match by the way. Evra too had a very good game. He was involved in the goal.

Our midfield still looks inept, but did well to cope against Lampard, Ballack and co. VDS never looked confident. He looked clueless when he was one on one with J. Cole. He was subbed early in the match after knee injury. Thomas Kuszack did well for the rest of the match. But, he was dozing when Salman... umm.. Salomon (ahhh, whatever it is) Kalou scored the header. Talking about the chelsea's goal (thank god it wasn't an own goal), Rooney had his share in helping Chelsea score. He made an hard-to-understand-why tackle, giving away the free kick. Yep, he was again seen in the United's half. God knows what was on his mind when he made that tackle. Berbatov was mostly unnoticed in the match. Again he wasn't being delivered. And he didn't look match fit either. He can only get better when he regains his mental and physical fitness. Hopefully he will gel into the team sooner than later. I think Berbatov will do better when we face some weaker opponents. Owen Hargreaves did very well, but he needs to work on his extraordinarily poor crosses. Fletcher has been consistent and worked tirelessly. Lets hope, Ronaldo starts the next match for United.
